Doru was killed by Strahd and turned into a vampire spawn during the rebellion led by the “Mad Mage”. He’s been locked in the basement of the Church of the Sun in Little Barovia ever since. His father, the priest Donavich, has prayed long and hard for him, with exhaustion, loneliness, and despair. Donavich refuses to give up on his son, however.
